Jonathan L.A. Barbar, Executive Vice President

Jonathan Barbar joined Barbar & Associates in 2008 following a successful career in commercial lending with major financial institutions and brings in-depth expertise in the southeast regional market, loan structuring and property analysis to the firm.

Jonathan was part of Fifth Third Bank’s initial expansion team to develop a commercial presence in the southeast United States. Along with Florida site selection and major client development, he specialized in loan underwriting for $5-50 million investment real estate projects. He was later appointed to their Florida Special Assets Group where he managed the disposition of a portfolio of over $100 million of commercial loans in all stages of the development cycle – land assemblage, pre-development, and mid-construction.

Jonathan’s early career was providing middle market credit analysis for Colonial Bank’s commercial real estate portfolio serving clients throughout Palm Beach County. His financial insight, quality process and service responsiveness lead to his ranking as their top-performing commercial real estate analyst in south Florida.

Jonathan’s expertise in bank underwriting and real estate analysis offer a competitive advantage to Barbar & Associates’ clients who require sophisticated financial evaluations.
Jonathan received his MBA in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and his BA in Business and Economics from Wheaton College in Illinois. Jonathan serves on the Board of the Westminster Academy Alumni Association, is a Trustee of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and member of Boca Raton Community Church. He is active in the real estate profession including:
